Hi! We're the Advent Communications Interns. We are a diverse group from schools all around the city, made up of both religious and non-religious students grades 10-12.
Our goal is to make Advent more inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the community - every language, race, gender, sexuality, and even religion! We want to spread our message that you don't have to be a specific person to be welcome in Advent.
Our work branches into fields like marketing and branding as well as design, communications, advertisements, and interpersonal skills.

Hi, I'm Leah New! I'm a tenth grader attending the Rudolf Steiner School on the East side.
I enjoy drawing as well as playing cello. Although I am not a member of the church, I'm excited
to be able to work with others to make the community more inclusive.

If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life (without health consequences): Pasta, bibimbap with doenjang chigae, crepes, bubble tea, steak and green beans, chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and a mango lassi, miso soup, breakfast sandwiches, brownies, ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, pizza, tomato cream soup.

Hi. I'm Luther Sackeyfio. I'm 17 years old and
I have been attending Advent Lutheran Church since before I can remember.
I am excited to do this internship because inclusivity means a lot to me. My
goal is to make this year productive and well spent.

Hi! I'm Charlie Foster. I am sixteen years old and
have been attending Advent for around a year. I go to Pinecrest Lutheran Leadership Camp
and attend the youth retreats to Koinonia yearly. At this internship, I am looking forward to bringing a broader sense of community to the church.
